In the Asagaya district, Hiroto Ikuta, a 29-year-old part-timer, enjoys friendly conversations with the local residents. Among his favorites is Hanae Wada, an irascible yet kind elderly woman known to him as "Granny." Their cherished interactions come to an abrupt end when she passes away due to a heart attack. Since Hanae was unmarried and childless, Hiroto finds himself unexpectedly inheriting her house. Three months after this event, 18-year-old Natsumi Kobayashi arrives from her hometown to pursue her studies at an art school. Lacking other housing options, she decides to live with her distant cousin Hiroto, whom she hasn’t seen in years. Despite their contrasting personalities, they gradually adjust to living together as they face the everyday hurdles of their lives.
