In a world dominated by isolation, Yijun suddenly finds themselves engulfed by a mysterious black slime in the middle of a classroom lesson. Already resigned to solitude, this strange event only compounds their difficulties. Yet, a school assignment unexpectedly sparks a fragile connection between Yijun and Suni, another lonely soul. Learning to navigate the intricacies of friendship proves especially challenging for both, particularly when Suni reveals they can manipulate a black ooze that turns aggressive only when its wielder faces intense stress. Can Yijun and Suni dismantle their defenses and nurture the budding bond they share?

Taste of Illness is originally a webtoon series which was officially published in book format by artePOP (아르테팝) on May 31, 2019. It was one of five winners of the Today's Comic Award (오늘의 우리만화상) in 2019. It was published digitally in English by LINE Webtoon on March 13, 2021.
