In the final days of the Universal Century, an age defined by expansion and conflict, humanity transitions into the "Regild Century," a period of sustained peace and prosperity. By the year R.C. 1014, the Capital Tower, an orbital elevator linking Earth and space, stands as a symbol of this new era, supplying Earth with energy via Photon Batteries transferred from orbit. It is revered almost like a sacred object. Bellri Zenam, a trainee in the Capital Guard tasked with protecting the Capital Tower, begins his first field exercise when he is suddenly attacked by the rogue, powerful "G-Self" mobile suit. Despite operating only a "Recten" maintenance unit, Bellri manages to capture the G-Self. His encounter with Aida Rayhunton, a young space pirate and the G-Self's pilot, leaves a deep impact. The G-Self feels unfamiliar yet strangely familiar, and Bellri senses a unique connection as its pilot. Aida's goal was to assault the Capital Tower. Bellri becomes entangled with the mysterious G-Self. Unraveling the truth behind these events threatens to upend the Regild Century. Thus begins the story of Reconguista.
