Little Busters! follows Riki Naoe, a high school student who serves as the main character. Having lost his parents during his early childhood, Riki fell into a state of despair and depression. He was rescued, however, by four peers—three boys and one girl—who had formed a group called the Little Busters, dedicated to fighting evil and upholding justice. The group was led by Kyousuke Natsume, whose younger sister is Rin. The other members included Masato Inohara and Kengo Miyazawa, who were both friends and occasional rivals. These friends invited Riki to join their adventures, which helped him recover from his grief. Over time, he embraced their bond and became the fifth member of the Little Busters. By the story's start, Riki and his friends are in their second year of high school, while Kyousuke is in his third year. Despite growing older, they continue to strengthen their friendship and enjoy their daily school life together.
