On the notorious Ira Street, residents of a dilapidated apartment building live in perpetual fear, surrounded by poverty and violence. Among them is Shavonne, an unemployed writer burdened by failed romances and a persistent feeling of being stalked by an unseen figure. His grim existence shifts when he encounters his mysterious neighbor, Lewellyn. Despite his striking good looks and charm, Lewellyn acts strangely—he sits on the staircase every day peeling onions, and his obvious wealth stands out against the street's harsh reality. Ignoring these warning signs, Shavonne agrees to a candlelit dinner at Lewellyn's place. During the meal, he makes a horrifying find: a mutilated corpse, later identified as the latest victim of the Ira Street murderer. As Shavonne attempts to distance himself from Lewellyn to stay safe, odd events keep occurring, forcing him to wonder whether Lewellyn is a threat or someone who might actually have his best interests at heart.
