Kakunaru Ue wa
High school student Yuuki Uehara has crafted what he believes is the ideal romantic comedy protagonist—timid, somewhat absent-minded, and completely innocent. After an editor at his favorite publishing house dismisses his manga as predictable and unrealistic, Uehara sinks into a deep depression. That is when he encounters his lively and attractive classmate, Niina Miyamoto, who also shares his love for manga. Having faced similar critiques, Miyamoto suggests they fake a relationship to gain real romantic experiences. However, Miyamoto does not match Uehara’s vision of a perfect heroine, and he himself is nothing like the confident hero in Miyamoto’s stories. Will their chaotic pretend relationship help them realize their manga ambitions, or will it only lead to more comedic troubles?
