Summary
Elendira, known as the Crimsonnail, serves as the thirteenth member of the Gung-Ho Guns and is widely regarded as their most formidable operative, often being referred to as the "lost" number thirteen. She wields a large briefcase that transforms into a crossbow, from which she fires massive red nails. Her personality mirrors that of Vash, displaying a childish, flippant, and flamboyant demeanor that can occasionally tip into extreme arrogance. Elendira presents herself as a transsexual, though some speculate she may be a transvestite; however, her body weight distribution and subtle breast development suggest she undergoes at least some estrogen treatment. She typically dresses in feminine attire, topped with a pillbox hat reminiscent of the style popularized by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Beneath her elegant exterior, she wears restrictive armor that she can disable to unlock inhuman speeds far exceeding her normal capabilities. She harbors a distinct dislike for Legato, once firing a nail into his torso during a conversation aboard a Zeppelin. There are also hints of jealousy toward Legato, as she notes that his lack of a number among the Gung-Ho Guns signifies he operates on a level beyond even her own. Notably, Elendira is the only Gung-Ho Gun who does not carry one of the broken coins, and she did not appear in the anime adaptation, making her exclusive to the manga.
