Summary
Born on August 10, Yamato is a twenty-six-year-old male ninja from the Fire Country’s Konohagakure, standing 178 cm tall with a lean frame weighing 58.4 kg. He holds the rare distinction of graduating from the Academy and achieving Chuunin rank at the age of six, bearing Ninja Registration number 010992. While he serves as a member of the village’s elite ANBU forces and operates alongside Team Kakashi, the name Yamato is actually a codename bestowed upon him by Tsunade to facilitate his assignment to the team. During his own time in the ANBU, his codename was Tenzou, a name Kakashi Hatake still occasionally uses, though Yamato prefers his current designation. As a temporary leader for Team Kakashi, he is considered one of the main protagonists of the series and is a younger peer of Kakashi. In high-stress situations, Yamato maintains the calm, stoic demeanor typical of an ANBU operative. However, he can be quite relaxed when off duty, often employing his Wood Release techniques to create comforts, such as constructing a house to serve as a place to camp out. Despite his serious profession, he is somewhat reluctant to spend money unless necessary. He initially protested paying for lunch at Ichiraku Ramen Bar, arguing that Kakashi, as the senior ninja, should cover the cost. He eventually agreed to pay only after Kakashi expressed that he considered Yamato an equal.
