Summary
Shirahama Kenichi is a polite, timid, and inherently good-natured second-year high school student with a passion for gardening and reading. Initially portrayed as a friendless loser, his life shifts dramatically after he meets Furinji Miu, inspiring him to forge his own path and grow strong enough to protect those he cares about. While he appears cowardly, he reveals surprising bravery when the lives of his loved ones are threatened. His journey begins when he stands up to a bully in the school’s karate club, winning a match with Miu’s help before quitting and drawing the ire of the club president. This conflict links him to the delinquent group Ragnarok, prompting him to seek training at the Ryozanpaku dojo. Despite being told he lacks natural talent, Kenichi compensates with an intense work ethic and grueling training. He evolves from the weakest student in his school to a fighter capable of defeating opponents with decades of experience and borderline superhuman abilities. He practices Katsujin Ken, utilizing a hybrid fighting style that combines Karate, Jujutsu, Chinese Kenpo, Muay Thai, and techniques from the Kosaka Style and Furinji Style. His personality is defined by extreme compassion and a strict moral code; he opposes violence, refuses to kill or strike women even at the risk of his own life, and strives to protect others. Kenichi’s kindness has earned him numerous friends, including former enemies, and he has unknowingly garnered the affection of figures like Ma Renka and Li Raichi. However, he also possesses a perverted side, often taking advantage of opportunities to see Miu or Shigure bathing and purchasing fake photos of them from Ma. He even adopted a technique from Ma called "ecchi mode," which involves attempting to grope women and has surprisingly helped him escape dangerous situations. A Sei with Dou-Type traits, Kenichi’s story follows his continued training at Ryozanpaku as he faces increasingly powerful adversaries.
