Summary
Chronos Number XII, Mason Ordrosso stands as the eldest member of the Time Guardians. Although he never participated in a single battle within the manga itself, he is depicted as the most wise and experienced among his peers. The source material explains that he was the sole survivor when the Chronos Numbers previously fought against Tao-users. He only appears in the final part of the manga, where he witnesses from afar the explosion of the castle alongside Belze. In the anime adaptation, Mason’s character is radically different, as he is later revealed to be secretly working against Chronos. He participates in planning the Chrono Numbers' missions from the beginning of the series but does not gain significant importance until the final arc. There, he discloses that he has been orchestrating a conspiracy against Chronos for twenty years, dating back to the end of the Taoshi War. During that conflict, Mason defected to the side of the Taoshi and learned the Ultimate Tao Technique from a Sacred Taoshi, though this technique appears to function merely as a powerful energy blast. His plan involves using Eve to activate Eden to achieve "World peace," a goal that actually entails absorbing all of humanity into Eden to fuel it. Mason leads the Zero Numbers, a group comprising Emilio Lowe, Baldorias S. Fanghini, Kranz Maduke, Shiki, and Kanzaki (Doctor), with the latter two originally hailing from the Apostles of the Stars. His unnamed Orihalcon weapon manifests as a golden suit of armor that covers every inch of his body except his face, and it includes two large swords. He is possibly the most powerful fighter in the anime series, having defeated Sephiria and Train with ease. Creed also struggled against him, although Mason was protected by the power of Eden during his fights with Creed and Train. It is highly likely, though not fully confirmed, that Mason was killed by Creed at the conclusion of the anime.
