Summary
Di Roy Ligerbert serves as the sixteenth Espada within Sōsuke Aizen’s forces and stands as one of the five members comprising Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez’s Fracción. The remnant of his Hollow mask forms a bulky helmet resembling a hammerhead shark, with the right side wrapped in bandages that conceal his right eye. These wrappings exist to hide an injury inflicted upon him by Grimmjow while he was still an Adjuchas. Once the bandages are removed, a gash is visible on the top of the mask, revealing a right eye that mirrors a standard Hollow’s design: a white circle encircled by black shadows. His mouth features square, shark-like teeth, a trait that contributes to a slight lisp. Throughout his appearances, he is frequently seen holding his Zanpakutō in his hands. His original Hollow form manifested as a snake-like creature with a shark head, reflecting the structure of his mask’s remains. During his confrontation with Rukia Kuchiki, he asserts that his true battlefield lies in the sky, implying superior aerial combat skills, though this preference is common among most Arrancar. He is notably weaker than his peers, a direct consequence of Grimmjow consuming part of him during his Adjuchas stage, which arrested his development early. This deficiency leads Yylfordt Granz to scornfully label him an "Arrancar in name only." He reportedly had to plead with the rest of the group to grant him permission to participate in the invasion.
