Renrin
Seiyuu / Dub
Summary
Renrin serves as the Kirin for the kingdom of Ren, presenting herself as a refined and proper young woman who appears to be around eighteen years old. This demeanor stands in stark contrast to that of her master. She first enters the narrative when Lady Gyokuyo of the sages of Mount Hou requests her assistance in borrowing the royal treasure of Ren, a bracelet known as the gogoukanda. This artifact is crucial for the plot, as it can open a portal to Hourai without triggering a shoku, thereby enabling the return of Taiki to the Twelve Kingdoms. Following this event, Gyousou sends Taiki to Ren on a diplomatic mission to express gratitude. Both Renrin and her king, Seitaku, develop a fondness for Taiki during this visit, though political instability within Ren severely limits their ability to interact with him or visit other kingdoms. Nevertheless, when Taiki vanishes following the outbreak of civil war in Tai, Renrin and Seitaku willingly provide their aid once again, offering the use of the gogoukanda to help locate him.
