Summary
Shoushun is a nyosen residing at Mt. Hou, where she serves as one of the fifty oracles tasked with guarding the young kirin, creatures that select the ruler of each kingdom. Originally from a village in En devastated by Setsuzan under the tyrannical reign of King Kyou-Ou, she survived a fire that claimed all but the village children. After praying at the shrine of Oubo and clinging to a fallen pillar while chanting to Seioubo of Gozan, she was summoned to Mt. Hou to become a sennin. As Enki’s frequent companion, she urges him to eventually choose En’s next king to restore peace, yet she is deeply troubled by his cynicism and refusal to crown a ruler, whom he views as destructive warmongers.
