Summary
Miyu Kouzuki is a blonde girl with a good-natured personality. At the start of the series, her parents depart for the United States to work for NASA, leaving her in the care of Hosho Saionji, a monk and long-time family friend residing at an old shrine on a hill. Shortly after, Hosho travels to India for a year, forcing Miyu to live in the same house as his son, Kanata. Initially resistant to cohabiting with a boy, Miyu frequently clashes with Kanata early on. However, upon learning from her mother that she and Kanata were friends during their toddler years, her attitude shifts, and she grows to like him more as the story unfolds. Miyu shares a deep affection for Luu, who resembles his mother due to their similar appearances. She also develops romantic feelings for Mizuki Yamamura, the cute younger brother of Mikan Yamamura, for a period of time. Her parents' habitual absences due to busy schedules and their tendency to use her to fulfill their own wishes have caused her exhaustion since childhood. Despite this history, Miyu remains cheerful, friendly, and deeply caring toward those close to her. Years later, she marries Kanata, and the couple resides at the temple.
