Koyama, Hazuki
Summary
Hazuki Koyama is the mother of Mitsuki and the daughter of Fuzuki Koyama. She was a caring and confident young woman who dreamed of having a daughter to name Mitsuki, envisioning a child who would shine eternally like the moon. When her husband, musician Aoi Koga, gave her a music box, she felt it was a waste not to use it and decided to name the song it played "Eternal Snow," a track that later became Route:L's signature number and deeply moved audiences. Despite being physically frail and prone to illness, much like her daughter, she possessed a kind heart and always tried to help others. Her mother, Fuzuki, opposed her marriage to Aoi because she knew Hazuki’s weak constitution meant she likely would not survive childbirth. Consequently, Hazuki ran away from home while pregnant with Mitsuki to be with Aoi. She passed away when Mitsuki was still an infant. In the anime, she appears primarily in flashbacks, such as when she attends Aoi’s concerts, receives the music box that Mitsuki now possesses, and agrees with Takuto that Mitsuki is the perfect name for their daughter. Her personality is further illustrated when Wakaoji-sensei tells Mitsuki that she resembles her mother’s helpful and gentle nature.
