Summary
As the leader of Section Nine, a specialized unit focused on brain scanning, Maki utilizes their ability to retrieve up to five years of memories from subjects to solve complex murder cases. His calm demeanor and serious approach to work earn him the admiration of Aoki, who particularly favors Maki as a newcomer to the department. Maki’s youthful and somewhat feminine appearance often surprises Aoki. It is widely believed that his lack of smiles stems from a traumatic incident in the past where he shot his best friend.
