Segawa, Kotetsu
Seiyuu / Dub
Summary
Kotetsu Segawa serves as the combat butler for the Segawa family and is the older fraternal twin brother of Izumi Segawa. A recurring gag in the series involves his intense obsession with trains and train turntables. Despite his professional demeanor, he displays a shy personality, lacking the confidence to even ask a girl out. This persistent bad luck with women has reportedly left him feeling bitter toward the entire female gender. However, his perspective shifts drastically when he encounters Hayate at Hinagiku’s birthday party, where he instantly falls in love with her or her alter-ego, Hermione Ayasaki. He eventually discovers Hayate’s true identity through his sister, Izumi. This revelation enrages him, leading him to kidnap Nagi to lure Hayate out. His goal was to test whether Hayate would remain devoted as a butler even while disguised in women’s clothing, although his ultimate objective at the time remained unclear. After Nagi confronts him about his shallow attitude toward love, Kotetsu vows to change his ways. He continues to harbor feelings for Hayate even after learning he was male during their conversation. He becomes extremely fixated on Hayate, employing various tactics to spend time with him, such as challenging him to ping pong matches to create opportunities for visits to a hot spring they were both attending. Although he makes only brief appearances in the anime, his presence is noted frequently through references by Izumi.
