Summary
Sawamura, Ryuhei stands at 170 cm and previously competed in the Featherweight and Junior Lightweight divisions before retiring as the former JBC Junior Lightweight Champion. He utilizes an outboxing style and was affiliated with the Karil boxing gym, recording a total of 14 fights. A lonely and violent individual shaped by a traumatic childhood, Sawamura endured regular physical abuse from his alcoholic stepfather. In a desperate bid to protect his mother, he stabbed his stepfather, leading to his subsequent placement in state care. His mother claimed she was seeking employment, but he was actually abandoned, a truth he only realized three years later. His isolation deepened after he was falsely accused of killing doves he had been feeding. Although he maintains connections with his former middle school teacher and Sendou Takeshi, he does not consider either of them true friends. Naturally talented, Sawamura fights as a counter-puncher but often gets disqualified due to his preference for inflicting pain on his opponents. His primary rivals in the series are Makunouchi Ippo and Mashiba Ryou.
