Tsukuba, Saijou
Summary
Saijou Tsukuba is an eighteen-year-old Sei and Satsujin Ken who first appears in Battle 4. As an upperclassman at Kenichi’s school, he holds a black belt in the Karate club and specializes in Sports Karate and Boxing, a martial art that blends boxing and karate techniques. He is a formidable opponent, capable of taking on two Karate club members simultaneously, breaking rocks with his bare hands, and shattering bats with a single kick, feats that contributed to Kenichi’s mental breakdown. Tsukuba initially served as the referee for Kenichi’s match against Daimonji and eagerly sought to test Kenichi’s abilities following his victory. Although he defeated Kenichi easily, he was left unsatisfied after discovering bruises on his ankle where Kenichi had grabbed him. During their second encounter, Tsukuba was swiftly defeated by Kenichi’s Yamatzuki and overhead throw. He subsequently reported his loss to Kisara of Ragnarok, who ordered him to leave town, an event that ultimately propelled Kenichi into the wider martial arts world.
