During the Hunter Exam, Tompa was registered as Examinee #16. Veteran candidates derisively dubbed him the "Rookie Crusher" due to his repeated failures. He claims to have sat for the exam thirty-five consecutive terms, a feat that implies he either falsified his age, infiltrated the test illegally as a child, or that the minimum age requirement is a recent addition. Tompa frequently boasts about his extensive experience to first-time takers and feigns generosity by offering assistance. However, this helpful demeanor is a ruse; he derives a twisted satisfaction from deliberately sabotaging their efforts to obtain their licenses.
