Oboro serves as the current head of the Tensho School and stands as the most powerful assassin affiliated with the Naraku organization. Having undergone rigorous training within the Tensho School, he eventually succeeded the previous generation's leader. During the Amanto War, he engaged in combat with Sakata Gintoki but failed to eliminate him. There are strong indications that Oboro acted under the direct orders of Tokugawa Sadasada to eradicate the surviving Joui Patriots. Possessing deep insights into the histories of both Yoshida Shouyou and Gintoki, he views Gintoki as a demon that howls at the heavens.
