Summary
Regin Ester Loire Bastien do Charles serves as the Crown Princess of the Brune Kingdom, having lived disguised as a boy due to the scarcity of opportunities for women to ascend to the throne, a secret known only to a select few. Although she was declared dead following the Battle of the Dinant Plains, she actually survived with the assistance of loyal servants and went into hiding. While Thenardier and Ganelon suspected her survival, they exploited the King’s poor health to act with impunity. She was discovered by Tigre after he rescued her from Mouzinel army soldiers. Once the conflict concluded, she disclosed her true identity to Tigre, Ellen, Mira, Rim, and Marthus, pleading for their aid in reclaiming her rightful throne. She shared a childhood connection with Tigre, recalling an incident where he hunted a bird for her, which fostered her trust in him and led her to request his support. She appears to harbor romantic feelings for Tigre and also forms a close friendship with Titta, bonding over discussions about him. Following the civil war, she is reunited with her father, King Faron, who acknowledges her as his heir. She establishes a three-year temporary alliance with Zhcted, placing Tigre in Ellen’s custody while she consolidates her power. After King Faron passes away peacefully, Regin ascends to become the first Queen of the Kingdom of Brune.
