Summary
Shoutarou Hidari serves as the left half of the duo known as Kamen Rider Double while also operating independently as Kamen Rider Joker. He presents himself as a hardboiled detective and adheres to a retro aesthetic inspired by the late 1930s, typically wearing fedoras and waistcoats. Despite this tough exterior, his peers frequently refer to him as half-boiled due to his inability to completely suppress his doubts. Initially perceived as inexperienced, he tends to act on his emotions and struggles with making harsh but required decisions, which conflicts with his self-image. However, he eventually earns greater respect as he demonstrates his capabilities throughout the series. He runs a private detective agency in the city of Fuuto.
