Summary
Manaphy is a diminutive, blue aquatic Pokémon characterized by stubby feet and club-like arms that extend beyond the length of its body. A red gem adorns its chest, with a yellow dot positioned directly below it. Its onion-shaped head features a pair of long blue antennae tipped with small spheres, while its dark blue irises are set against yellow sclerae and framed by two yellow eyelash-like markings. Comprising eighty percent water, Manaphy hatches from a Manaphy Egg that mirrors its appearance, featuring a blue shell with glowing yellow dots and a red gem-like center. Unlike other Mythical Pokémon, Manaphy can breed, though the eggs it produces always hatch into Phione, which have been observed accompanying Manaphy in small groups. Despite their physical similarities, the relationship between the two remains unclear. Highly sensitive to its environment, Manaphy swims vast distances to return to its cold seafloor birthplace, with Hisui's coastal waters cited as one of its rare travel spots. Born with a unique power to bond with any human or Pokémon, it even demonstrates the ability to learn and speak the human language, as shown in Ranger and the Temple of the Sea (M09). Known as the "Prince of the Sea," this creature maintains a mysterious presence in the deep oceans.
