Summary
Gen Shishio is a fourteen-year-old human who makes his debut in Manga Chapter 48 and Anime Episode 20 alongside Kyoichi Hiba, who is inspecting Karasumori Academy under the cover of night. The following day, Gen arrives at Yoshimori’s school as a transfer student. As the youngest son of the Shishio Family and a member of the Night Troop, he is an Ayakashi Majiri capable of transforming into a wolf-man. Masamori Sumimura dispatches Gen to Karasumori to assist Yoshimori and Tokine in their battle against Kokuboro. Physically, Gen presents a serious demeanor for his age, marked by sharp, animal-like eyes, spiky black hair, and a dark complexion. His combat attire resembles a ninja costume featuring purple pants, a short-sleeved robe, and arm guards, adorned with the Shadow Organization Star symbol. During his time at the academy, he typically wears the standard Middle School uniform. A special flame tattoo encircles his body, a mark placed on him as a child to prevent a full Ayakashi transformation. Personality-wise, Gen is solitary and slow to trust or interact with others, often struggling to understand social behaviors. He spends significant time observing people and reflecting, particularly puzzled by the alliance between Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura despite their families' feuding history, and unable to comprehend Yoshimori’s interest in such a "scary girl." Even with those he considers friends, Gen remains guarded. Like Yoshimori, he is willing to risk his life to save others, though his motivation stems from his sense of duty to Masamori. His abilities include enhanced strength and agility, rapid healing, heightened senses, and his unique Ayakashi transformation.
