Summary
Serving as the blind stargazer of Heaven under the previous emperor, Kuyou harbored deep affection for Ashura-ou and shared with him the original prophecy regarding his son's destiny. When Taishaku-ten seized power, she was incarcerated for her refusal to pledge allegiance to him. By the start of the series, she had escaped her confinement and taken refuge in her former temple, where Yasha discovered her. True to Ashura-ou's request, she revealed the prophecy, prompting him to depart on a quest to find Ashura. While he was away, Bishamon-ten tracked her down and murdered her by impaling her against the temple wall with her staff.
