Three centuries ago, a mighty military leader rose in revolt against the Celestial Emperor, murdered him, and took control of the throne, establishing a harsh and oppressive government. A foretelling declares that the Six Stars will gather together to bring down this cruel dominion. The present leader of the Yasha Clan has discovered Ashura, the last remaining individual from the Ashura Clan, and they set out on a journey to locate the Six Stars and make the prophecy come true.

RG Veda was published in English by Tokyopop from April 12, 2005, to September 4, 2007. Dark Horse Comics later republished the series in omnibus volumes. It was also released in Spanish by Norma Editorial from April 1, 2008, to October 1, 2009; in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC from October 2012 to August 2013; and in Polish by Japonica Polonica Fantastica in 2-in-1 omnibus volumes from April 28, 2022, to June 5, 2023.
