Summary

Rin Matsuoka is a second-year student at Samezuka Academy who specializes in the butterfly stroke. Standing at 177 cm and born on February 2, he serves as Haruka’s primary rival. After studying swimming overseas, Rin returned to Japan with a drastically altered personality, leaving his former teammates confused by his new demeanor. He attends an all-boys boarding school and maintains a fiercely protective attitude toward his younger sister, Gou. Although he may not appear particularly affectionate, he is deeply concerned about her romantic life, becoming uncharacteristically agitated and even stalking her under the mistaken impression that she is dating various men weekly. He also firmly forbids Captain Mikoshiba from using Gou’s first name, feeling a sudden urge to punch him after hearing Mikoshiba had asked her out.
