Summary

Akamaru serves as the loyal nin-dog companion to Inuzuka Kiba, functioning as his best friend and a crucial element in all of the duo's combat techniques. Initially appearing as a small puppy who rests either inside Kiba’s jacket or on his head, Akamaru eventually grows large enough for Kiba to ride. He possesses exceptional senses that surpass those of ordinary dogs and maintains a unique ability to communicate with Kiba. The name Akamaru translates to "red," with "maru" acting as a common masculine suffix shared by other male characters in the series. When Akamaru consumes a soldier pill, his fur changes to a dark red hue. He is voiced by seiyuu Takeuchi Junko, who also provides the voice for the main protagonist, Uzumaki Naruto.
