Summary
Motoharu Kaburagi serves as a colleague to Onoe, a relationship that initially begins with Onoe harboring deep resentment toward him. This animosity stems from a misunderstanding in which Onoe witnessed what he believed to be his girlfriend embracing Kabu within their office. In a twist of irony, Onoe is later transferred to a new journalism section where he works directly alongside Kaburagi. Kaburagi is introduced as an attractive, popular, and cool photographer who frequently smokes, particularly when he is deep in thought or reflecting on a situation. His charm draws the attention of women wherever he goes, leading him to be labeled as a womanizer. Despite this outward persona, Kabu is highly dedicated and serious about his work. He is steadfast in capturing evidence for scoops, going so far as to use his body and deceive subjects to gain information. While he acknowledges that he acts fake and shamelessly for the sake of his job, he remains honest and blunt with Onoe. Kabu is captivated by Onoe’s sincerity and often teases him to the point of embarrassment. Contrary to his cool demeanor, Kabu can be quite jealous, especially regarding Onoe’s interactions with his friend Masa. He also has a younger sister named Shouri.
