Yuurakutei, Yakumo
Summary
Yuurakutei, Yakumo is a legendary rakugo performer whose history is shadowed by the trauma of his past. He had long refused to accept any apprentices until the arrival of Yotarou changed his mind. In his youth, he was known as Bon and originally trained as a dancer, but a leg injury ended his dance career. His mother, who worked as a geisha, subsequently sent him to study rakugo under the Seventh Generation Yakumo Yuurakutei. He trained alongside Shin, a boy who appeared unexpectedly and was accepted into the program on a whim. Although Bon demonstrated aptitude for the fundamentals of rakugo and possessed a remarkable capacity for memorizing stories, his performances were rigid and devoid of emotion or passion. Shin, driven by a deep love for the art, quickly surpassed him. As an apprentice, Bon received the name Kikuhiko. In his quest to discover his own unique style, Kikuhiko began performing risqué and erotic stories, where he uncovered a powerful ability to embody feminine characters.
