Schweinorg, Kischur Zelretch

Schweinorg, Kischur Zelretch

Summary

Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg, widely recognized as the Wizard Marshall, Zelretch of the Jewel, and the Kaleidoscope, stands as one of the five True Magicians. Although he once held the title of a Dead Apostle Ancestor, this aspect was omitted from the narrative of Fate as it was deemed irrelevant. A magus symbolized by gemstones, he is an eccentric old man who passionately rages against evil while mocking do-gooders. Despite frequently taking in pupils, no mage house has successfully succeeded him. In his prime, he was a formidable monster capable of engaging the King of Vampires in single combat and pushing back a boulder falling from the heavens, but he has since aged significantly and can no longer wield Magic with the same prowess he possessed in his heyday. In the Heaven's Feel route of Fate/Stay Night, Zelretch appears before Rin Tohsaka at the Clock Tower after she recreates his Jeweled Sword with Shirou Emiya’s help. He compliments her achievement by taking her on as a protege and having the charges against her nullified. He expresses surprise at the progress of the Tohsaka family over just six generations, having expected little from Nagato’s unremarkable bloodline. In the True End, he leverages his influence at the Clock Tower to secure Rin’s acquittal for opening and closing the gate of the Greater Grail. He also makes a brief cameo in Carnival Phantasm. In Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma illya, Zelretch is revealed as the creator of Magical Ruby and Magical Sapphire, which he provides to Rin and Luvia to help them retrieve the Class Cards. He appears briefly conversing with Waver Velvet, also known as Lord El Melloi II.
