Summary
Mizunuma, a seventeen-year-old who debuted in Battle 70, practices Katsujin Ken and Karate, identifying as a Dou. Once the second most bullied student at Kouryou High School, trailing only Kenichi, he was originally slated to face Daimonji in the anime before Kenichi intervened. Inspired by Kenichi’s bravery, Mizunuma joined the Shinpaku Alliance and trained in Karate under Alan Subishi at the Kyuukai Dojo, an institution situated in an abandoned building. Physically, he is tall with smooth hair and glasses, resembling Tanaka Tsutomu, and typically wears his school uniform at school and Karate robes at the dojo. Like Kenichi, Mizunuma is shy and bullied, but he seeks strength to uphold righteousness by joining Shinpaku, looking up to Kenichi as a role model. However, his sense of justice is offensive rather than defensive; he once severely injured a middle school bully and even struck Matsui in the face. His other role model is his master, Alan Subishi. When Alan was incapacitated by Yomi’s Tirawit Koukin, Mizunuma was driven by revenge to enter the D of D tournament first, aiming to advance the Shinpaku Alliance so he could fight Yomi.
