Hermes is a Brough Superior motorrad, defined as a two-wheeled vehicle that cannot fly but moves in the direction it is pointed, effectively functioning as a motorcycle. He travels alongside Kino, providing the speed necessary for them to reach any destination they desire. Beyond his velocity and his capacity to carry large amounts of luggage, as Kino rarely travels lightly, Hermes possesses few other distinct qualities. He is characterized by his tendency to constantly mix up quotes and his habit of complaining. Hermes is also quite gullible, placing absolute trust in Kino even when she is teasing him, which often results in further grumbling. His most famous line is "I'm bored." In many respects, the motorrad is naive and innocent, acting in a child-like manner that sharply contrasts with Kino's more mature and worldly demeanor. Despite this, he is a reliable companion suitable for long journeys. In the Gakuen Kino off-shot series, Hermes appears in the form of a cell phone strap.
