Summary
Although Aaron was briefly mentioned by Lucian in An Elite Meet and Greet, he did not make his actual debut until A Trainer and Child Reunion. In this episode, he was shown preparing for his championship battle against Cynthia. Upon discovering that Ash and his friends knew Cynthia personally, he invited them to his training center. Aaron revealed that a Wurmple was his first Pokémon and childhood friend. However, he had abandoned it after becoming angry when it lost a match. Regretting this decision later, he dedicated himself to training hard and learning to understand Bug-type Pokémon to ensure such an incident would never happen again. He eventually encountered the Pokémon again as a Beautifly at the end of the episode, following a battle against Team Rocket. In the following episode, Aaron appeared on television fighting Cynthia. The broadcast also showed that he had lost the match.
