Hyuuga, Hiashi

Summary

Hiashi Hyuga serves as the head of the Hyuga Clan in Konohagakure. Born on January 8, he is 5'8" tall and weighs 146 lbs, with a Blood Type of B. At age forty during Part I and forty-two in Part II, he is the father of Hinata and Hanabi Hyuga. He is also the twin brother of the deceased Hizashi Hyuga, making him the uncle of Neji Hyuga. As the elder twin, Hiashi assumed leadership of the clan, a status that created deep friction with Hizashi. This dynamic resulted in Neji being branded with a curse mark and deemed ineligible to succeed the family head, a source of ongoing tension between the brothers. Hiashi’s role is pivotal in the lives of his daughter and nephew, particularly given the clan's rigid traditions. A defining moment in Hiashi’s past occurred when Hinata was kidnapped by the Head Ninja of Kumogakure, who was serving as an ambassador to Konoha. The Land of Lightning demanded a life for a life, threatening renewed warfare between the Hidden Leaf and Cloud villages unless Hiashi surrendered his own life. While Hiashi intended to accept the punishment to protect his village, Hizashi insisted on taking his place. Despite his resentment toward the main family, Hizashi wished to save his brother and choose his own destiny. He asked Hiashi to explain this decision to Neji before he went to his death. Hiashi’s personality is characterized by sternness and strictness. He subjects both his daughters to rigorous training and rarely offers praise for their efforts. This attitude is particularly evident with Hinata; when she was assigned to Kurenai Yuhi, Hiashi stated he was indifferent to the possibility of her death, asserting that the Hyuga Clan had no use for a weak successor.
