Helios

Summary

Helios serves as the priest of Elysion. While manga and anime portray him as distinct entities, the anime merges Helios with Pegasus, a winged white unicorn. In the manga, Nehelenia curses Helios, forcing him to inhabit the body of his beloved horse. Consequently, he appears to Chibiusa in this equine form, though he is later seen riding Pegasus separately during their farewell. Unlike his anime counterpart, manga Helios lacks definitive powers; he cannot grant abilities for attacks or shapeshift physically. His capabilities are limited to traveling between worlds and battling the curse afflicting him. Although he guards Elysion, he does not protect the Golden Crystal, which resides within Mamoru rather than in a horn, making Mamoru its sole wielder. In the anime’s fourth series, Supers, Helios plays a pivotal role. Captured by Nehelenia to find a pure dream, he inhabits Chibiusa’s beautiful dreams and willingly transforms into Pegasus, abandoning his original body. He becomes Chibiusa’s companion, initially keeping secrets but eventually growing closer, sharing a kiss and a hug. Pegasus protects the Golden Crystal on his forehead, which Sailor Chibi Moon ultimately uses to defeat Lemures after being summoned by Super Sailor Chibi Moon, lending his power for the attack. The manga strongly implies that Helios will eventually marry Chibiusa, becoming her prince.
