Sakaki, Doburoku
Summary
Doburoku serves as the coach of the Demon and has a well-known penchant for drinking sake. He previously fled to the United States after accumulating a debt of two million yen to loan sharks through gambling. Although he originally traveled to America to recruit talented players for American football, he ended up coaching Beach football instead. There, he trained the team Too Tattoos, whose performance significantly improved after enduring his rigorous training regimens. He eventually returned to become the coach and personal trainer of the Deimon Devil Bats once his debts were settled, largely thanks to Hiruma’s gambling winnings in Las Vegas. Doburoku and Ojo’s trainer, Shoji, were former teammates on the American football team at Sengoku University, where they were renowned as "The Twin Japanese Blades." During their university days, Doburoku played as a tight-end. The pair both participated in the grueling Death March, with Shoji assigned to the offensive line and Doburoku focusing on defense. While all other teammates abandoned the march during the final 200 kilometers, Doburoku pushed a truck to exhaustion, sustaining an irreversible injury to his right knee. He is often intimidated by Hiruma and frequently defers to him for decisions, a dynamic notably evident during the Death March. Despite this, Doburoku possesses a stubborn streak. For instance, when searching for the missing Komusubi, he was so impressed by Komusubi’s demeanor that he refused to stop his search even after Komusubi had already been found.
