Summary
Mizuki is a snake familiar residing at the Yonomori shrine, standing at a height of 175 cm (5'9"). His connection to Nanami began when she saved his life by releasing him from a window to protect him from her cruel classmates, an act that caused him to fall in love with her. In response, he left an engagement mark on her wrist. The following day, he arrived at her school and whisked her away to the shrine, where she found herself unable to escape. Unlike typical snakes, Mizuki was raised in a greenhouse and possesses little knowledge of standard serpent behavior. He suffers from profound loneliness, stemming from the fact that his god has vanished. The deity once existed as long as people visited the shrine and believed in her, but with no one living in the valley, she dwindled away to nothing. Despite this, Mizuki maintains the belief that she still exists and will eventually return. Driven by this hope, he desires for Nanami to live with him at the shrine forever. When she refuses, he attempts to advance on her but is interrupted by Tomoe. It is later revealed that the shrine is an illusion designed to conceal his god’s favorite plum tree, which Mizuki deeply treasures. Nanami had previously promised to visit the blossoms with him whenever he felt lonely. Similar to Kurama, Mizuki harbors a persistent crush on Nanami, demonstrated when he even cooks for her during her illness.
