Synopsis

Continues the story of Kamisama Kiss Season 2

In "Kamisama Kiss Season 2," Nanami Momozono continues her duties as the guardian deity of Mikage Shrine alongside her familiars Tomoe and Mizuki. When the wind god Otohiko invites her to the Divine Assembly in Izumo, Nanami brings Mizuki and tells Tomoe to attend school in her place. Her real reason for going is to find out where Lord Mikage, the shrine's former deity, has gone. After visiting Izumo, Nanami meets Botanmaru, a tengu searching for Shinjirou Kurama, a fellow tengu who has become a goth idol. Botanmaru asks Nanami to help bring Shinjirou back to Mount Kurama so they can reclaim their kingdom from the usurper Jirou. However, Nanami learns that a darker force than Jirou is behind the events on the mountain. As Nanami grows into her role as a deity, she must deal with a tengu uprising, her growing feelings for Tomoe, and a mysterious figure who appears, connected to both Tomoe's past and Nanami's future.

In this installment

At her shrine on a snowy day, the land deity Nanami Momozono finds her familiar, the fox yokai Tomoe, collapsing as dark marks spread over his body. Lord Mikage, who had been absent for a while, suddenly reappears and places Tomoe into a magical pocket mirror to slow the curse's advance. Mikage reveals that before he and Tomoe met, the fox yokai fell in love with a human woman. To live as a human with his love, Tomoe made a deal with a fallen god, which instead brought a curse that ultimately killed him. Upon finding Tomoe, Mikage erased his memory of that human love as a temporary fix. Recently, however, the curse has resurfaced because Tomoe has developed feelings for his new human master, Nanami. With no other choice, Nanami decides to go back in time to prevent Tomoe from being cursed, even if it means they may never meet. As she travels through centuries to save her cherished familiar, Nanami uncovers that her connection with Tomoe runs much deeper than she first realized.
