Russel
Summary
Russel, known as the "Groovy Guy," is a middle-aged American operative working for the Florida crime syndicate tasked with tracking Jane. His appearance is strikingly distinctive, as he dresses in full cowboy attire complete with a trademark hat, spurs, a revolver, a bandoleer belt, a tan shirt, and jeans. Because he is an outsider, he is not taken seriously by his fellow bounty hunters. Shenhua even remarks, "Cowboy, this no Florida," indicating that Russel is in over his head. Despite this underestimation, his capabilities prove to be far greater than expected. He becomes the sole surviving bounty hunter in the pursuit of Jane, leading to a duel against Eda aboard the Lagoon. It is later revealed that he and Eda had crossed paths previously in the United States, although Eda claims they have never met. Just before she kills him, Eda confesses that she works for the CIA.
