Summary
Mei Chang is the seventeen-year-old princess of Xing who, much like Ling Yao, was dispatched to Amestris with the mission of uncovering the secrets of immortality. Driven by a deep desire to aid her struggling clan, she remains steadfast in her determination to succeed. She is accompanied by her pet panda, Xiao-Mei, and demonstrates proficiency in Alkahestry, the unique alchemical style of Xing. Mei employs kunai to position transmutation circles, allowing her to manipulate targets from a distance, and she is also trained in martial arts. Additionally, she possesses the ability to perceive the chi of both humans and homunculi. Initially, Mei idolizes Edward Elric, viewing him as her prince, but her romanticized perception is shattered upon meeting him in person. Consequently, she redirects her affections toward Alphonse Elric. Despite his violent history, she also establishes an alliance with Scar.
