Okazaki, Naoyuki

Summary

Naoyuki Okazaki is the father of Tomoya, whose mother Atsuko died when Tomoya was young, leaving Naoyuki as his sole guardian. Following this tragedy, he turned to alcohol and smoking, leading to frequent violent altercations with his son. During one such argument over trivial matters, he slammed Tomoya against a wall, dislocating his right shoulder. Tomoya refused to leave his room, and by the time he sought medical help, the injury was deemed untreatable. Although Naoyuki began treating Tomoya with more kindness afterward, their relationship remained distant, resembling that of strangers rather than family. This emotional coldness deepened Tomoya’s pain, causing him to become a delinquent, cease participating in basketball, and avoid coming home early to evade confrontation. As revealed in Kotomi's route, Tomoya eventually considered running away from home.
