Summary
Ginsei is an enigmatic figure distinguished by an eyepatch, bearing a complicated past with Ioryogi that has devolved into hostility, often leading him to challenge Ioryogi to combat. He asserts that Ioryogi’s current appearance is merely a disguise and demonstrates knowledge of Kobato’s mission, though he holds both Kobato and Ioryogi’s bond with her in low regard. Although Ioryogi rescued and trained him, even bestowing the name Ginsei—which translates to "silver life" in Japanese due to his silver eyes—Ginsei desires Ioryogi’s return to "Heaven" for reasons that remain unclear. His true nature is hinted at when his shadow, cast while watching over Ioryogi and Kobato’s apartment, reveals the silhouette of a young man with short hair, suggesting his physical form is not his actual one.
