Raidou

Summary

Raidō is a tall high school student with short black hair, brown eyes, and a perpetually stoic expression that rarely betrays his inner feelings, even when he is experiencing intense emotions like joy, shock, or determination. He typically wears his school uniform, which includes a white shirt, black pants, a black belt, and white sneakers. Initially, Raidō feels a strange distance from Aharen, who sits next to him, despite his primary goal of making one hundred friends to ensure a fulfilling high school experience. His naturally stiff demeanor and lack of facial expression previously made him seem distant to others, but he is actually quite friendly once he gets to know someone. His relationship with Reina begins with awkwardness and confusion, but it gradually evolves into a close bond where they engage in various activities together, such as studying, dancing, playing board games, and sports. Raidō’s approachable nature also helps ease the initial tension with Mitsuki, Reina’s childhood friend, who originally viewed Raidō as a scary individual trying to trick Reina. Through his interactions, Raidō eventually earns the friendship of Ishikawa, Hanako, and Riku. Despite his calm exterior, Raidō possesses a vivid and imaginative inner life, particularly when he is confronted with situations he does not understand, such as Reina’s peculiar behavior. In these moments, his mind races to create elaborate and often illogical explanations for her actions. He may act on these wild delusions until the truth is revealed, at which point he immediately dismisses his absurd theories. Although Raidō recognizes this tendency to jump to unlikely conclusions as a flaw, he rationalizes it as a way to remain prepared for any scenario. Raidō is also notably frank and bold in expressing his emotions and intentions. He is proactive, famously pushing his desk toward Reina’s during their first interaction to initiate their friendship after she kept her distance. He is vocally decisive about his goals but just as willing to drop them if they were based on false assumptions. Unafraid to stand by his feelings, even in delicate matters like romance, Raidō showed determination by defeating Mitsuki in a game of reversi after she threatened to cut off his contact with Reina if he lost. As Reina’s boyfriend, he openly compliments her and expresses his affection casually, often causing Reina embarrassment.
