Summary
Kuro is a black cat with oversized ears who accompanies Kanako. This character makes his debut in the eleventh manga volume and the Love Hina Again OVA, quickly forming a friendship with Tama-chan. Kaolla Sue shows great interest in studying him, while Sarah dubs him a witch cat due to his strange capabilities, which include flight using his large ears and the ability to speak. The portrayal of his vocal talents differs between mediums; in the anime, Kuro speaks directly, whereas in the manga, his speech is actually Kanako’s ventriloquism. He wears a bell on his tail, producing a distinctive sound that signals Kanako's arrival.
