Summary
Moronobu Hishikawa is a cat-like ukiyo-e artist known for his charming smile and long fingernails, which indicate he does not engage in manual labor. As one of the few real historical figures to appear in Samurai Champloo, he makes his debut in Episode 5, "Artistic Anarchy." He first crosses paths with Fuu in a restaurant, where he offers her and her two companions a complimentary meal. During their interaction, he persuades Fuu to pose for him in a semi-nude arrangement.
