Summary
Serving as the local police chief in Tokyo, Uramura functions as a supporting figure within the Rurouni Kenshin series. He is a dedicated professional who takes his duties with utmost seriousness, yet he remains pragmatic enough to seek external assistance when faced with cases beyond the capabilities of the police force. Initially regarding the Battosai as a dangerous threat, Uramura’s perspective shifted after witnessing the swordsman firsthand. He places significant trust in Kenshin and his companions, relying on their word regarding situations he is not directly involved in and even asking for their aid. Demonstrating his loyalty, Uramura aided Sano in evading arrest by creating a diversion that allowed Sano sufficient time to leave Japan.
