Brunestud, Arcueid

Summary

Born on December 25, Arcueid Brunestud stands 167cm tall with a slender frame weighing 52kg, featuring blond hair and red eyes that shift to gold when her Mystic Eyes are activated, alongside measurements of B88/W55/H85. As the White Princess of the True Ancestors, she holds the title of Brunestud, a designation reserved for those capable of manifesting the Millennium Castle Brunestud. While often compared to a vampire royal family, the True Ancestors are actually a race of beings modeled after TYPE-MOON, the ultimate entity of the Crimson Moon. Long ago, when the planet lacked defense mechanisms against humanity, the Crimson Moon descended to create a race of ultimate beings to rule over humans, effectively becoming the planet's consciousness. These entities are less like individuals and more like natural disasters such as earthquakes or typhoons, acting with a force of nature that makes their evil deeds as natural as breathing. However, the race was flawed by a bloodlust inherited from the original Crimson Moon. True Ancestors had to expend significant power to suppress this impulse, but as time passed, many fell and began drinking blood indiscriminately, while others entered eternal sleep. Arcueid was created without a specific functional need, originating from nothingness simply to fulfill the goal of creating the strongest True Ancestor. Her immense power was utilized to make her a weapon, specifically the executioner tasked with eliminating fallen True Ancestors and powerful Dead Apostles. According to Ciel, this role began in the 12th century AD when the number of fallen True Ancestors was high. Arcueid performed this duty excellently but remained nothing more than a tool, taught only the essentials for hunting. She remained unaware that she was the same kind of creature as her targets, erasing her memories after each kill before going to sleep. As an executioner, she was believed to lack vampiric impulses, a misconception exploited by Michael Roa Valdamjong, a Church priest seeking perfect immortality. Since he had reached the limits of his human body, Roa needed to become a Dead Apostle to continue his research. Arcueid, ignorant of her true nature and the consequences of consuming blood, was tricked by Roa into drinking his blood. This caused her to go berserk, wiping out most of the True Ancestors and allowing Roa to steal a considerable portion of her power, elevating him to one of the strongest Dead Apostles. Arcueid eventually regained enough sanity to chain herself to a throne and enter sleep. From that point on, Arcueid had to suppress her bloodlust like any other True Ancestor. The remaining True Ancestors were largely wiped out by Roa or other Dead Apostles who viewed the assassination of their creators as a game. Arcueid eventually managed to destroy Roa’s original body with the help of the Burial Agency. However, Roa survived because he had mastered reincarnation, constantly transferring his soul into host bodies chosen for their social influence and magical potential. After destroying the original body, Arcueid slept and awoke only to hunt Roa’s reincarnations, unable to permanently destroy him or reclaim her stolen power as he would simply respawn. By the time of Tsukihime, Roa had reincarnated seventeen times, with his final host being Tohno SHIKI.
