Summary

Lum, known as Lamù in English dubs, is a stunning Oni alien who possesses the ability to fly and generate electrical shocks. She is renowned for her popularity and her habit of ending sentences with the verbal tic ~datcha, which roughly translates to "yes?" or "you know?". Aside from her schoolgirl uniform, she typically dresses in a revealing tiger-striped bikini paired with knee-high go-go boots. Although she generally has a sweet and innocent nature, Lum also suffers from a fiery temper. Her ultimate life goal is to maintain a "Sweet Home with Darling," where she can manage the household and raise children while Ataru works. However, her culinary skills are disastrous; her version of cooking involves irradiating extremely spicy ingredients like jalapenos, cayenne peppers, and Tabasco sauce with an alien energy bazooka until they turn into inedible, crystallized nuggets. As an alien, she utilizes various bizarre gadgets, though her poor understanding of their functions often leads to comedic mishaps. The physiological differences between humans and Invaders also fuel many plotlines, such as her horns growing larger after being bitten by a cow or her getting intoxicated by consuming pickled plums.
